Overlap Festival

A poster-led campaign for a festival where film, sound and visual art meet, built on one simple idea: circles that overlap.

(01) The brief

Overlap brings filmmakers, musicians and visual artists together for ten days every autumn. Each edition had looked completely different, so audiences struggled to recognize the festival from one year to the next, and the small team was redesigning everything under deadline pressure.

(02) The approach

Three colors for three disciplines. Each circle stands for one art form, and where they overlap a new color appears, which became the festival's visual signature. The system flexes from a three-poster street series to tickets, title cards and social animations, giving every year its own palette while keeping the same rules.

(03) The outcome

2x

ticket presales compared with the previous edition

The 2025 campaign covered the city in a single week and became the festival's most shared edition to date. The team now sets each new year's palette in an afternoon instead of starting over.

For the first time, people recognized our posters from across the street. The system makes every new edition feel unmistakably ours.
